If you’re coming to Puerto Rico for Bad Bunny’s residency this summer...

Welcome to my island!

I grew up in Caguas, just south of San Juan, and my family still lives on the island. I’ll be there for the July 27 concert (yes, I already have my outfit picked!), but trust me: there’s way more to this trip than just the show.

Whether you’re coming to party, soak in some culture, or simply enjoy the beaches with a Medalla in hand, this guide is for you. I’m breaking down where to stay, what to eat, and how to experience Puerto Rico like a local—with a few of my personal favorites woven in. From coquis singing at night to arroz con gandules on the table, here’s how to make your trip unforgettable.

Where to Stay

Fairmont El San Juan Hotel

A beachfront playground in Isla Verde with retro-meets-modern design, multiple pools, live music, and lively nightlife.

Hotel El Convento

Historic elegance in the heart of Old San Juan, set in a 17th-century convent with courtyard charm and a rooftop plunge pool.

Olive Boutique Hotel

An adults-only oasis in Condado with Mediterranean aesthetics, a rooftop infinity pool, and intimate vibes perfect for post-concert chill.

Must-Eat and Must-Drink Spots

Santaella

A farm-to-table standout in Santurce offering local seafood, creative cocktails, and vibrant ambiance.

Lote 23

A buzzing food park in Santurce with late-night bites, craft drinks, live music, and picnic-style communal tables.

Barrachina

Claimed birthplace of the piña colada, serving classic Puerto Rican dishes like mofongo and arroz con gandules in Old San Juan.

La Factoría

Multiple-bar gem named a World’s 50 Best, with inventive cocktails and intimate rooms—ideal for a Lavender Mule.

Jungle Bird

A hip Santurce bar serving tropical rum-forward cocktails in a relaxed yet stylish atmosphere.

The Cannon Club – Restaurant & Piano Bar
Located inside The Gallery Inn in Old San Juan, The Cannon Club is part piano bar, part wine lounge, and part art haven. Sip champagne or craft cocktails while live musicians play on a grand piano surrounded by parrots, antiques, and eclectic charm. It’s one of my favorite spots for a slower, more soulful night out.

What to Do Before or After the Show

Old San Juan – Wander colorful historic streets, tour forts like El Morro, and sip cocktails from rooftop bars as you watch the sunset.

La Perla – Visit the vibrant neighborhood featured in Bad Bunny’s “Estamos Bien” video for murals, music, and ocean views.

Santurce – Explore lively street art on Calle Cerra, eat fresh seafood at Santaella, and catch live music in local cafés.

Condado – Lounge on the beach or paddleboard in the lagoon before heading to rooftop bars at Olive or Casa de Montecristo.

Beyond San Juan
If you have extra time, add:

El Yunque National Forest – Hike lush trails, swim in La Mina Waterfall, and hear coquis chirping in the canopy.

Flamenco Beach, Culebra – Spend a day on one of the world’s most beautiful beaches, known for turquoise waters and white sands.
